本日は、“変形性膝関節症”についてお話していきます。
☆“変形性膝関節症”とは？？
…高齢化や筋肉量が減少することが原因で起こる病気です。
変形性膝関節症は、初期・中期・末期の3段階別に症状度が分かれています。
◎初期→クッションの役割を持つ膝関節の軟骨がすり減ることで関節間が狭くなります。
（症状）朝起きた時や身体の動き初めの際に膝が動きづらく感じたり、不確かな痛みなどを感じます。
痛みは感じるか感じないか程度なので多くの人は気にせずに放置しがちです。
◎中期→初期の頃より軟骨がすり減り、軟骨の破片が棘となり痛みを生みます。
（症状）痛さがだんだんと強くなっていきます。正座や階段の昇り降りなどの行為の際に痛みが増す傾向にあります。
また、膝が曲がってきたり、歩行時にギシギシと音が鳴るようになります。
◎末期→クッション材だった軟骨が無くなってしまうことで骨同士が直接あたり、強い痛みを生みます。
（症状）この時になると、歩行自体や屈む行為ができないほどの強い痛みに変わるため、日常を送ることが困難になります。
重症化してしまうと手術をしなければいけなくなりますが、そこまでひどくない状態である場合は薬や注射・リハビリなどの運動で治療可能です。
そのため、痛みを感じていなかったとしても、膝に違和感を覚えるといった場合は病院で一度見てもらうのが良いでしょう。
